Disclaimer for OptionsSimulator.com. Educational simulator only — not financial advice. Simulated results are hypothetical and do not guarantee real trading performance.
1. Educational Purpose Only
OptionsSimulator.com (the "Service") is an educational options trading simulator operated by Thetix Technologies Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales under Company Number 17113756, with its registered office at 2 Frederick Street, Kings Cross, London WC1X 0ND, United Kingdom ("Company", "we", "us", or "our").
The Service is designed exclusively for educational and informational purposes. It allows users to explore and practise options trading strategies in a simulated environment using model-generated or historical market data. No real money is at risk, no actual securities are traded, and the Service does not facilitate, arrange, or execute real financial transactions of any kind.
Thetix Technologies Ltd is not:
- A broker, dealer, or broker-dealer.
- A registered investment adviser or financial planner.
- A financial institution, bank, or credit institution.
- Authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the United Kingdom.
- Registered with or regulated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), or any U.S. state securities regulator.
- Authorised by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) or any EU national competent authority.
- Regulated by any other financial regulatory body in any jurisdiction.
2. Not Financial, Investment, Tax, or Legal Advice
Nothing on the Service — including but not limited to simulations, pricing models, strategy analyses, educational articles, blog posts, charts, calculators, portfolio tools, and any other content or outputs — constitutes or should be construed as:
- Financial or investment advice.
- A recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell, hold, or otherwise trade any security, option, derivative, financial instrument, or investment product.
- A personalised financial recommendation based on your individual circumstances.
- Tax, accounting, or legal advice.
- An offer to provide advisory, brokerage, asset management, or portfolio management services.
- A guarantee, prediction, or forecast of future market performance, prices, or outcomes.
You should always consult with a qualified, appropriately licensed financial adviser, tax professional, or legal counsel before making any real investment, trading, or financial decisions. Any decisions you make based on information obtained through the Service are made entirely at your own risk and sole responsibility.
3. Simulation Limitations
The Service uses mathematical models and algorithms to simulate options pricing and trading scenarios. Users should be aware of the following inherent limitations:
3.1 Models Are Approximations
The pricing models used by the Service — including but not limited to Black-Scholes-Merton, SABR (Stochastic Alpha Beta Rho), Geometric Brownian Motion (GBM), Heston stochastic volatility, and Jump Diffusion models — are mathematical approximations of real-world market behaviour. All models operate on simplifying assumptions that may not hold in actual markets. No model can perfectly replicate the complexity of real financial markets.
3.2 Simulated Results Are Hypothetical
All trading results generated by the Service are entirely hypothetical and simulated. Simulated results have significant inherent limitations, including but not limited to:
- No execution risk: simulated trades are filled instantly at model prices. Real markets involve order queues, partial fills, rejections, and execution delays.
- No slippage: simulated trades do not account for the difference between expected and actual execution prices.
- No liquidity constraints: simulated trades assume unlimited liquidity. Real options markets may have wide bid-ask spreads, thin order books, or insufficient counterparties, particularly for illiquid strikes, far-dated expirations, or during periods of market stress.
- No market impact: simulated trades do not move prices. In real markets, large orders can significantly affect the price of the underlying asset or the option itself.
- No transaction costs in default mode: unless explicitly configured by the user, simulations may not account for brokerage commissions, exchange fees, regulatory fees, or other transaction costs that affect real trading profitability.
- No emotional or psychological factors: simulated trading does not replicate the fear, greed, stress, and cognitive biases that significantly affect real trading decisions and outcomes.
- No counterparty risk: simulated trades assume all counterparties will honour their obligations. Real markets involve counterparty credit risk.
3.3 Past Simulated Performance
Past simulated performance is not indicative of future results — whether real or simulated. The fact that a strategy performed well in a simulation does not mean it will perform well in real markets or in future simulations under different conditions.
4. Market Data Disclaimer
The Service may use market data sourced from third-party providers, including publicly available financial data APIs. Users should be aware of the following:
- Market data displayed on the Service may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. It should not be relied upon for real-time trading decisions.
- The Service does not provide live, real-time market data feeds. Data may be delayed by 15 minutes or more, or may be entirely model-generated rather than sourced from live markets.
- Historical data may contain gaps, errors, or adjustments that do not reflect the conditions experienced by market participants at the time.
- Implied volatility surfaces, term structures, and greeks are derived from models and may differ materially from values observed in live markets.
- The Company does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any market data displayed on the Service.
The market data provided through the Service is not suitable for making real trading or investment decisions.
5. Third-Party Content and Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, content, resources, or services that are not owned or controlled by Thetix Technologies Ltd. The inclusion of any third-party link does not imply endorsement, approval, or recommendation by the Company.
We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party websites or services. You access third-party websites and services entirely at your own risk and subject to their respective terms and conditions.

The Service, including all content, simulations, models, tools, features, and outputs, is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Company expressly disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- Thetix Technologies Ltd, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates shall bear no liability whatsoever for any financial losses, trading losses, investment losses, or any other losses or damages arising from or related to your use of the Service, reliance on simulation results, or any decisions made based on information obtained through the Service.
- In no event shall the Company be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, business interruption, or other intangible losses.
